Plattsburgh, NY – 6/4/14 – Republican Congressional candidates Elise Stefanik and Matt Doheny in New York’s 21st District will meet in a debate airing June 12 at 7 PM on Mountain Lake PBS.
The one hour debate will take place at WWNY TV in Watertown, and will be broadcast on Mountain Lake PBS, WWNY, WPBS and North Country Public Radio.
The debate will be moderated by Brian Ashley, co-anchor of WWNY's 6 PM news. The panel questioning the candidates includes David Sommerstein, assistant news director of North Country Public Radio; Thom Hallock, producer and anchor of Mountain Lake Journal on Mountain Lake PBS; Jeff Cole, anchor of WWNY's morning news and The Public Eye, a weekly interview program on WPBS.
Each candidate will have a chance to make opening and closing statements, and answer questions about both national and local topics. In addition, each candidate will be able to ask the other a question, and there will be a "lightning round" of questions from the panel as well.
The winner of the June 24 primary will be the Republican candidate for the 12 county 21st Congressional District. The Democrat in the race is Aaron Woolf and the Green Party candidate is Matt Funiciello.
