Plattsburgh, NY – 11/22/2010 – Cirque du Soleil: Flowers in the Desert premiers on Mountain Lake PBS on Saturday, November 27th, at 7:00 pm.
Since 1993, Cirque du Soleil has produced seven original, permanent shows in Las Vegas, creating a garden of delights that has transformed the very nature of entertainment in this desert oasis. Now, Mountain Lake PBS captures the artistic universe of Cirque du Soleil in the two-hour performance special Cirque du Soleil: Flowers in the Desert.
Flowers in the Desert presents mesmerizing performances of Mystère™, “O™”, KÀ™, LOVE™, and their latest production, Viva ELVIS™ , as well as sneak peeks of Zumanity™ and CRISS ANGEL® Believe™ , all recorded in High Definition. This special look into Cirque du Soleil offers behind the scenes interviews and backstage footage allow the viewers to explore the creative process behind the performances.

On Thursday November 25th at 8:30pm, Mountain Lake Journal Extra will feature interviews with Flowers in the Desert producer, Frank Christopher, and Cirque du Soleil Corporate PR Manager, Chantal Côté. This edition of Mountain Lake Journal Extra will also feature footage from the premiere screening that took place on November 17th at Cumberland 12 Theater, where over 250 people were the first to see Flowers in the Desert before its PBS debut.
This extraordinary entertainment experience is part of special programming premiering on PBS stations beginning November 27 and airing through December 2010. Cirque du Soleil: Flowers in the Desert airs on Mountain Lake PBS at 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 27th, and at 5:00pm and 9:00pm on Sunday, November 28th. Cirque du Soleil: Flowers in the Desert was underwritten by Tourisme Quebec.
